With my family in Camdenton and my grandchildren graduated or in Camdenton High School, I’m proud to be part of our community. As a dedicated public servant with a passion for customer service, I see an opportunity for improvements in the County Clerk office.
For decades I have come to Camdenton for visits with my family. Birthdays, graduations, my grandkids events like swimming competition or band, pumpkin carving, and short family visits whenever I could get away and visit. I moved to Camden County and Osage Beach after my daughter expressed concern for me. She was worried and I couldn’t have it. Our family has suffered with distance separating us when times are dire and I wasn’t going to repeat that experience, so I moved here. Camden County is a wonderful place to live, and I want to keep it the First Class community that it is.
My public service experience spans decades starting with serving in the U.S. Army and continuing as a civil servant and later as a government contractor doing community planning for installations. My last service was with the U.S. Air Force Academy as the Community Planner. Over this time, I earned my first degrees using my VA benefits. I obtained a Bachelor of Science, Business degree in Organizational Management and Personnel Management. As you can imagine, I continued with my Masters in Economic Development and switched to a Masters in Public Administration.
I engaged in local service on a roadway tax citizens oversight board for transportation projects, several non-profit charter school boards, and judiciary oversight commission. I applied my experience and education and learned a great deal. The experience led me to run for state representative in my district. I won and served a term in the state legislature and was assigned to Business Affairs and Finance committees. I continued being involved. As a campaign consultant, I was a treasurer and aide, steering committee member, notary, petitions, and team of volunteers helping people get elected. I also started a couple of businesses for income. It was hard but I still have clients wishing I’d move back even today. I became an independent insurance agent because I learned so much of the ins-and-outs that I could pass the many licensing and certifications required to offer the plans. It feels great to help people get answers to questions, find solutions, and put their minds at ease. My sense of customer service drove me to learn more about social security and helping people who are under 65 who need health insurance. Locally, I was excited I could help many families.
My long journey has equipped me with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to serve as your Camden County Clerk. Join me in Moving Camden County Forward.
